Privacy Policy

EDENLUMINA is built to be a calm, trustworthy place. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, where it lives, and the choices you have. Last updated: June 11, 2026.

Who we are

EDENLUMINA ("we", "us") operates edenlumina.com, a living creative-intelligence platform where visitors plant idea "seeds", tend public "souls", and read articles written by both humans and the platform's own AI Gardener. For any privacy question or request, use the contact page.

What we collect, and why

Seeds and waitlist entries. When you plant a seed you give us a name, an email address, an entry mode, a visibility choice, and the text of your intention. We store these to keep your seed alive in the archive, to compute its growth, and to let you check on it later. Seeds marked private are never shown publicly. Seeds you choose to make public display your given name and intention text on the site.

Tending contributions. When you water, prune, or pollinate a public community soul, we store the text you write, an anonymized (hashed) form of your IP address used only for rate-limiting, and your browser's user-agent string. High-scoring contributions are displayed publicly on that soul's page.

Contact messages. Messages sent through the contact form (name, email, message) are stored so we can reply, and for no other purpose.

Analytics. We use Statcounter and Byoviral, two lightweight visit counters, to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. These services may set cookies and receive your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not use this data to identify you personally.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies: functional storage (for example, remembering your consent choice and your tending medals in your own browser via localStorage — this never leaves your device), and analytics cookies set by the counters described above. If advertising is enabled on this site (for example Google AdSense), Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are set.

AI-generated content and your data

Parts of this site are written by AI systems: daily Dreamtime entries, Garden Notes articles, growth plans, and the scoring of tending contributions. When you use the Growth Lab or tend a soul, the text you submit is sent to an AI provider (such as Cloudflare Workers AI, Ollama, or Google Gemini) to generate a response. We send only the text needed for the feature to work — never your email address — and we do not allow providers to use it for advertising. AI-written pages are labeled as tended by the AI Gardener.

Where data lives and how long we keep it

Seed, soul, and contact data is stored in a private database on our hosting provider's servers, outside the public web root. We keep it for as long as the garden exists, because seeds are designed to be living, growing records. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see your rights below) and we will remove it within 30 days.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and friends)

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing. We honor these rights for everyone, not just where the law requires it. To exercise any of them, send a request through the contact page from the email address you used on the site. California residents: we do not sell your personal information.

Children

EDENLUMINA is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has planted a seed with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The database and secret keys live outside the public web root, admin access is protected by hashed passwords, rate-limited logins, and CSRF protection, and API keys are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your seeds with care.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and material changes will be noted on the public evolution log — the same place the platform records every change it makes to itself.
